History & values

For Tupperware, our history started 75 years ago with a paint can.

Chemist Earl S. Tupper had a spark of inspiration while creating molds at a plastics factory shortly after the Great Depression. If he could design an airtight seal for plastic storage containers, like those on a paint can, he could help war-weary families save money on costly food waste. This signature container helped to create the food storage category and revolutionized the way the world stored, served and prepared food.

Since that time, we have stayed true to nurturing a better future. From revolutionizing microwave cooking that helps time-starved families get healthy means on the table faster and easier, to growing vegetables in space with NASA, everything we do is driven by the desire to help save time, money, space, food and energy for people, families, communities and the world.

Headquartered in Orlando, Florida with a presence in nearly 80 markets globally, Tupperware Brands is a leading global consumer products company selling sustainable kitchen and lifestyle products. Today, our iconic brand has more than 8,500 functional design patents of solution-oriented home products.

Tupperware continues to innovate for the benefit of people and our planet. Through our entrepreneurial business opportunity, we’re bettering the lives of individuals with a meaningful way to make money and impact their local communities. And what motivates us all every day is knowing that we can impact the planet in a positive way, by creating eco-friendly solutions to store food so it can last longer, to make transporting food on-the-go easier and less wasteful and to better our lives through the use of our products.

It’s an exciting time at Tupperware – we are focused on helping others, through our products that offer sustainable solutions to single-use and food waste and through our Tupperware business opportunity that gives people around the world a chance to make money and start their own business.
